A few weeks ago, I found myself sitting on the floor in front of my closet with a pile of clothes at my feet. I had pulled out piece after piece trying to put an outfit together for work, only to toss aside everything I tried on in frustration. I had reached a saturation point with my wardrobe; I was guilty of overwearing my favorite pieces, and I wasn't feeling inspired by, well, anything. If you too have found yourself exasperated and uninspired, you know that even with a closet full of clothes to wear, some days you just don't like anything. 

Luckily, that evening a friend was stopping by for wine (read: rosé), and as I explained my frustration, she listened, patiently sitting and sipping until jumping up and volunteering to look through what I had. After 20 minutes of rummaging through my stuff, she managed to rearrange my closet completely, pulling out dresses I had pushed into the corners and left to get dusty. Watching her do an edit of my closet—a friend refresh, as I'm calling it—was exactly what I needed.

One look at Kylie Jenner's outfit repertoire and it's clear she has the athleisure trend down to a T. She has a particularly enviable sneaker wardrobe, and now thanks to a new interview with Vogue, we have some insight into her collection.

For starters, she told Vogue that she owns at least 50 pairs of sneakers. “I might have a problem!” she said. She also revealed her rules for which outfits to pair with high-tops versus low-tops: “I like high-tops with leggings or out at night with a sexy dress,” Jenner told Vogue. “With shorts or skirts, [I wear] low-tops so my legs look longer.” Easy enough to follow, right? Here's to hoping our sneaker collection is as amazing as hers someday.

Just months after hiring Monica Rose as her stylist, the 14-year-old model is really defining her fashion-forward taste, recently stepping out in high-waisted black skinny jeans, a simple tee tied at the front, and a bandana a choker. Her all-black ensemble was balanced with a pair of bright white high-top sneakers. Separately, each of the pieces in this off-duty look is considered understated, but the way each item was styled gave Gerber's overall look a bit of an edge. I rely a lot on neutrals in my wardrobe, but I also love color so I get excited to find colorful statement pieces to incorporate a lot of bright tones into my look.  Of course shoes and a bright lip are great ways to brighten up your ensemble, but bold colored dresses are one of my favorite ways to add some color to my summer.

It’s easy to get stuck in the routine of shorts and a t-shirt, and as much as I love that combo, my dresses always come out to play for the summer. It’s an effortless, one-and-done outfit you can just throw on for the day or for a night out. I just got this satin sleeveless midi dress. I love the emerald jewel tone and the texture makes it feel so sophisticated but still feminine.  I’ve also gotten so many questions on this pleated dress I got last month from Banana Republic – the ombre makes the dress such a statement piece and the color is such a pretty shade for summer! It’s one of those dresses I want to wear to every time I have an excuse to. I also love this blush dropped-waist dress (on sale – 30% off) and this coral dress! (on sale – 30%)  Banana has so many pretty classic and feminine pieces!
