Terrifying but true: I'm newly single, which means there are a lot of first dates on my horizon. To give myself credit, I'm already Bumbling with the best of them, but when it comes to actually going on a date with someone, it's scary territory. Not because I'm particularly weirded out about hanging out with strangers (or am I...), but mostly because I have no idea what to wear.

While there may be no such thing as the "perfect" first-date outfit, there are definitely looks I'm pretty sure I should avoid. Since the last time I was unattached was way back when bandage dresses were sartorially appropriate, let's just say I have some catching up to do.

Luckily for me, my job allows me access to heavy-hitting experts, women whose entire careers are centered around the idea of making relationships (and yes, dates) work. And since I know I'm not the only single sister out there, I figured it was worth sharing their advice on what not to wear come my (and your) next tête-à-tête with a Tinder match.
