Teen Vogue Will Now Publish 4 Issues A Year
10:32:00 AMFor anyone who's an avid reader of Teen Vogue, or TeenVogue.com, you’re probably already tuned into the recent changes that the publication's undergone within the last year. But in the latest news, the glossy will be cutting back its issues as of 2017, moving from nine issues annually to four, as WWD reports today.
While you might be disappointed to hear that you’ll be receiving the magazine less frequently, the news does offering some exciting opportunities for the brand that, ironically, only entered its teens in 2016 (the title launched in 2003). Specifically, the four issues per year will now come a bit larger than Teen Vogue's famously smaller, fits-into-most-handbags size and serve as more of a collectors' item, according to reports from Ad Age. This could possibly mean bigger, even more beautiful and insightful photo features and story telling. In addition, with this shift also comes a bigger investment in TeenVogue.com, Ad Age says.
Of course, if media shifts have taught us anything, it's that we'll need to wait this one out to see how things will truly develop. In the meantime, you can expect something a bit different in the mail come next year.
What do you think of this shift to make Teen Vogue a quarterly? Let us know in the comments.
