Alessandra Ambrosio's Sweaterdress Has the Coolest Detail

Leave it to a supermodel to take an already established styling trend and make it something all her own. Remember lampshading? If you don't, it's the genius term Popsugar coined earlier this year to describe the practice of celebrities wearing broad hemlines (oversize sweatshirts, shirt dresses, etc.) with thigh-high boots, exposing just a bit of leg. Well, the styling trick is still going strong, because Alessandra Ambrosio just wore her own winter-friendly update.

While out in Los Angeles this week, the model wore an olive-toned sweaterdress from Romanian brand Concepto paired with Le Silla's nude suede over-the-knee-boots. Where Ambrosio winterized the concept, however, is by wearing a dress with a slightly longer hemline and boots that went even farther up her leg, skipping the skin-exposing portion of the trend in favor of covering up for warmth. Still, the silhouette fits the basic premise of the look, so we're going to call this lampshading 2.0.

As if updating a major trend wasn't enough, the sweaterdress she picked out had a unique detail. At first glance, we thought she was wearing a backpack, but it turns out that those straps are actually military-inspired leather belts sewn vertically onto the piece itself. Seriously, have you ever seen anything like that? We are so into this fresh update on old classics and can't wait to see which style boundaries she pushes next.
