Olivia Palermo clearly pays attention to her footwear, often making it the focal point of her outfit. She appeals to the shoe girl in every fashion girl and is regularly exposed to the latest offerings from every designer. Which is why when she speaks to her shoe trend likes and dislikes, we listen. This week, Palermo attended the Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York, to present the Brand of the Year award to Schutz.

In keeping with the theme, she spoke to Footwear News about her current shoe trend likes and dislikes. She said of the shoe trend she'd never try, "I’ve never been a fan of big, masculine, chunky sandals with jeweled embellishments" (i.e. the ever-polarizing "ugly" sandals.) As for the shoe trend that's her favorite, she said, "I love a gray heel with a little fur on it. It’s really chic." We, too, are quite smitten with furry shoes this season and agree with Palermo's sentiment.

Last but not least, Palermo reminisced to Footwear News about her first-ever designer shoe purchases, and they're two styles that are classics today: Manolo Blahnik BB pumps (in white satin) and Jimmy Choo slingbacks (in salmon). Consider those first purchases proof that she's always had impeccable taste.
