Last week, Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her first-ever haute couture collection for Dior to much fanfare. As expected, the show drew an A-list group of attendees, from Diane Kruger and Olivia Palermo to Kirsten Dunst and Chiara Ferragni. That said, it was really all about the glorious clothes: One glance at the runway, and it was clear that the collection was something special. Now, thanks to Elle, we have new insight into the making of these beautiful pieces.

The fashion publication took an in-depth look at the painstaking process for Dior's couture collection, revealing how much work went into the bodices, flower crowns, and more. One statistic in particular stood out to us: According to the magazine, a single black and tan gown took a whopping 800 hours to make due to the multiple layers of hand-embroidered tulle.
