A midi skirt, pointed-toe pumps, and top-handle handbag are all pieces that inherently lend themselves to ladylike style. But somehow when we spotted Sienna Miller out and about this week, the combination of all three didn’t equal up to what you might expect. While Miller’s look is certainly feminine, it wasn’t overly sweet, and that’s why we love it so much.

Spotted in Berlin, the actress, who’s been on a press tour promoting her new film The Lost City of Z , paired a white Victoria Beckham skirt with a simple black top and camel Rag & Bone coat—a timeless trio of neutrals. However, it was her handbag that added a fresh, playful, and quirky pop of print. Specifically, spring’s soon-to-be-huge gingham trend, courtesy of Mansur Gavriel. A flash of orange via her footwear also provided an interesting detail that made Miller’s otherwise classic combination feel much more modern and cool—even for the not-so-ladylike dressers.
