This Is Why Weddings Officially Cost More Than Ever
10:59:00 AMEvery year, The Knot surveys thousands of brides and grooms across the U.S. to find out how much getting married really costs. Last year's report revealed that the average price of a wedding was shockingly high, but this year, that number is even higher—in fact, it's a record-breaking amount. After surveying 13,000 people who got married in 2016, The Knot reports that the average cost of a wedding is now a staggering $35,329.
So why is the average cost higher than ever? The Knot explains where the extra money is going. "Couples today have total personalization and unforgettable guest experiences top of mind," the report explains. "They’re more excited than ever to create the ultimate guest experience complete with out-of-the-box entertainment and exceptional amenities, including everything from food trucks, lawn games and photo booths...to aerialists, gospel choirs and live portrait artists." Head over to The Knot to see the cost breakdown by category, by state, and more.
