Gigi Hadid Lands the First Ever Cover of Vogue Arabia

11:48:00 AM

Thanks to Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, the Saudi Arabian princess and full-fledged street style star who’s been on our radar since last year, we’ve known about the impending launch of Vogue Arabia for a while. But today, it was Gigi Hadid who broke the news to her 30-plus million Instagram followers that she landed the cover of the inaugural issue.

In a personal message on her post, the half-Palestinian model said, “I think the beautiful thing about there being international Vogue's [sic] is that, as a fashion community, we are able to celebrate, and share with the world, different cultures.” The cover image was shot by the famous duo of Inez and Vinoodh and styled by designer Brandon Maxwell, who’s an outspoken advocate of inclusivity in fashion. “I hope that this magazine will show another layer of the fashion industry’s desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs,” Hadid also wrote, “and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to... & learn and grow in doing so.”

With over 20 international editions of Vogue magazine, Vogue Arabia marks the latest. Scroll down to see both of Hadid’s covers and a peek at the spread inside.
