As fashion's biggest event, the Met Gala typically calls for the fanciest of footwear. For most celebrities, that usually translates to embellished high-heeled sandals and vertiginous pumps. But for Lily Aldridge and Salma Hayek tonight, that means thigh-high, colorful statement boots. 

Aldridge wore a cut-out white Ralph Lauren dress, which she punched up with bright-red Balenciaga boots. Hayek opted for a similar look in a different color scheme: She went with a simple black dress and bright blue boots, which brought her outfit into fashion girl territory.
