And fittingly, she chose a former The New School student while walking the red carpet for the Parsons Benefit.

The singer was not only attending to support the new graduates, but she was also recognized for being a leader when it comes to self-expression and empowering young women. To honor the occasion, she wore a Matthew Adams Dolan pantsuit. But it wasn't just any two-piece—it was a distinctly oversize style that provided a bit more oomph than your average power suit.

Dolan graduated from the design school in 2014, and Rihanna's been a supporter for quite some time. However, this impactful and slightly larger-than-life version of the pantsuit—arguably the most talked-about trend of the last year, for many reasons—felt like a perfect fit for the event.
