Lauren Conrad Told Us the One Trend That Isn't Going Anywhere

1:35:00 PM

As Lauren Conrad fans already know, the designer has been serving up chic, affordable clothes and accessories via her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's line for a while now. But the collaboration's latest launch, The Festival Collection, has us especially excited.

As the name suggests, Conrad designed the collection with festival season in mind—that means breezy, easy-to-wear pieces that are definitely Instagram-worthy.  "It’s always great to start a collection with a more specific inspiration, because can get into a theme and have so much more fun with it," Conrad told Who What Wear of the new collection. "So between different fabrications and colors, we were all about festival."

So what are her pointers for dressing for all the summer festivals you have on your calendar?  "I think it’s really easy to go overboard, but when it starts to look like a costume, then it can get a little silly," Conrad told us. "I think [you should] mix in basics, whether it’s denim or more of a basic top. I think that balancing out your outfit is really important, and not going too crazy with accessories. Stick to one statement with your outfit.

As for her favorite trends this season, Conrad clarified that the one look you've been seeing everywhere is officially here to stay: off-the-shoulder. "I mean, it’s hung around for a really long time, but I think sleeve interest in general has been really important," Conrad said. "So I think different interpretations of the off-the-shoulder trend are going to be relevant for a while. Particularly in summer, when they’re a little easier to wear. I don’t think that trend is going anywhere." And with that, you can confidently buy every off-the-shoulder piece you've been eyeing for the last month.
