Confession: I'd Actually Wear These Low-Rise Skinny Jeans

1:37:00 PM

Until very recently (as in this week), I wouldn't go anywhere near a pair of stretchy low-rise skinny jeans. It's been high-rise or the highway for me for quite some time. Alas, we've been hinting at the return of the 2000s trend we used to know and love on a fairly regular basis over the past year, and we may have just received confirmation that the most controversial skinny-jean trend of them all is indeed back.

Re/Done, every celebrity, blogger, It model, and Instagram star's go-to denim brand for reworked vintage Levi's, now has its own Originals line in addition to its vast collection of Levi's and has been swiftly been churning out new styles. The latest is its version of jeans with stretch (up until this point, the brand had only worked with 100% cotton denim). I was instantly intrigued when I noticed this week that Re/Done had just added a pair of stretchy low-rise jeans into the mix. The denim has a cool vintage-inspired wash and a low (but not too low) rise and button fly, and I have to admit they're very cool—likey because, in the words of the brand, "We took the retro/disco hip-hugger style and reimagined it for today's style."

Given Re/Done's endorsement of the divisive 2000s trend, it looks like summer 2017 just might mark the official, new and improved version of the trend. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually want these low-rise skinny jeans. Shop them for yourself below!
