Well, it turns out there's another contender nipping at their heels, and it comes with a seal of approval from Miu Miu, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent… Need we go on? Embellished, look-at-me shades are poised to have a major moment this summer (and surely on the streets of fashion week come September)—and with options adorned with colorful gems, flashy crystals, rows of faux pearls, and allover glitter, there's something for everyone (provided you don't mind the extra attention, that is).

Miu Miu, in particular, has spearheaded the statement-shade trend season after season, and right now its maximalist accessories seem particularly relevant. Elle Fanning, the face of the brand and reigning queen of off-duty style in Cannes this year, topped off nearly every one of her outfits with a pair of glittery, crystal-studded, or otherwise crazy-cool sunnies—and frankly, we can't wait to try this trend at home.
