Hold On: Did '90s Cindy Crawford Invent Airport Style?
10:20:00 PMBelieve it or not, airport style has been a thing since the '90s, thanks to none other than supermodel of the decade Cindy Crawford. Long before the days of It girls wearing leggings, sneakers, and bomber jackets to their terminal of choice, Crawford was taking her polished aesthetic to LAX with a uniform of her own, and much of what she wore for travel back then is once again cool. Thanks to the resurgence of '90s fashion in recent seasons, Crawford's mom jeans, oversize blazers, backless mules, long floral-print skirt, and velvet top feel fresher than ever. But the look that Crawford wore on repeat was one you can't go wrong with: jeans, a black top (and oftentimes blazer or leather jacket), a wide belt, and black ankle boots.
All in all, what we find to be the biggest takeaway from Crawford's throwback airport style is that every one of her looks was completely wearable and comfortable yet chic enough to wear from airport to dinner date. What more could you ask for in a '90s look?
