Wearing This Piece Could Be Aging You, Says a Supermodel

When Christie Brinkley doles out style advice, you better believe we listen. The 63-year-old supermodel recently chatted with Vogue about how her style had changed over the years, and she mentioned the one piece that she avoids wearing at her age: tweed jackets.

"A young girl can wear a Chanel bouclé jacket, for instance, and it looks great on her," she told the magazine. "But I feel like at my age, if I put on a Chanel jacket, it would age me." Instead of wearing traditionally prim-and-proper pieces that can look aging, Brinkley prefers to wear more casual items on a day-to-day basis.

"I think that as you get older you have to keep things simple," she told Vogue. "I think that I feel the best when I’m in an old pair of jeans and a cashmere sweater, jean shirts, and white button-down shirts. Those elements stay relaxed and easy." Do you agree with Brinkley's thoughts?

Take Brinkley's advice and swap prim tweed jackets for classic button-down blouses—shop our picks below.
