It’s hard to imagine any other piece of fashion news outshining New York Fashion Week over the last seven days, but perhaps the biggest—and arguably most unexpected—stories of the week were happening at the top of major magazine mastheads. There was Robbie Myer’s departure from Elle, followed by Nina Garcia’s appointment, as well as Vanity Fair’s Graydon Carter stepping down. And today, Glamour’s longtime editor-in-chief announced her own resignation from the publication.

Cindi Leive has held the position of Glamour’s EIC for the past 16 years, and in an exclusive interview with the New York Times she speaks about the emotional departure from her “Glam fam.” Leive, however, does not give any specific details as to what her new career moves will entail, expect that it will not be “another big media job or to a similar position at another company,” she tells the Times. She also elaborates on Instagram that she'll soon pursue projects that "that stand to improve women’s lives."

As the Times also reports, Leive will stay onboard until the end of the year and produce one more Women of the Year events, to be held in November. Her replacement has not be announced yet but we'll be keeping a close eye on the news as it develops.
