Here's Everything Our Editors Can't Stop Talking About From NYFW
3:36:00 PMThe best show overall: I loved everything that was happening at Simon Miller. The bright colors felt optimistic and the silhouettes were relaxed yet powerful—sign me up. Plus, I was obsessed with the presentation, which essentially brought to life the designers' inspiration, the Congolese rainforest—not easy to do in downtown Manhattan!
The best celebrity sighting of the week: Leslie Jones sitting, cheering, and totally losing her mind in the front row on Christian Siriano’s show. That joy was genuine, unbridled, and totally infectious for everyone around her.
The craziest trend I know will be a thing in six months: I own one pair of flip flops that are used for beach days and pedicures only. However thanks to Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Dion Lee, I’m convinced we’re going to see thong sandals everywhere—for day and evening—come spring.
Never had I ever at Fashion Week... been to an Alexander Wang after party. I’m not usually a late-night partygoer during Fashion Week, but I made the exception for Wang. There a candlelit table stacked with Dunkin' Donuts, a bounce house, and performances by Ashanti and Ja Rule. Was it worth sacrificing a new precious hours of sleep? Absolutely.
