See the Audrey Hepburn Movie Costume That Just Sold for $92,000
11:34:00 AMThis month at Christie's auction house, up for sale are 500 items from the personal collection of one of the most iconic actresses of our time. Not only are the many roles played by Audrey Hepburn famous, her costumes in each film are memorable in their own right. From her string of pearls and large black sunglasses in Breakfast at Tiffany's to her necktie and summery dress in Roman Holiday, every Audrey movie look is undeniably iconic.
Among the many items up for sale in the auction, both sold in person and online, it's the items from her wardrobe that are garnering the most value. "A black satin Givenchy cocktail gown worn during the 1963 film Charade sold for 68,750 pounds," reports The Hollywood Reporter. In other words, the buyer spent dover $92,000 for the dress. Audrey's legacy is proving to be the most valuabel when it comes to what the star wore both on and off-screen. The sale will run on Christie's website through October 4.
