Prince Harry and the Obamas love to support one another's causes. You may remember that former president Barack Obama attended the royal's Invictus Games event back in September, and now Prince Harry is returning the favor by supporting the Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago today.

Ahead of the event, Prince Harry and Michelle Obama paid a surprise visit to a local high school, where the stylish duo dressed in coordinating light blue work shirts and pants. (Michelle, of course, wore a fashion girl's version of the classic button-up shirt.) When a powerhouse duo get together to do good work—and dress well while doing it— they're pretty much unstoppable.

Last month, I received a package from Closed Denim with a new pair of jeans to try out. But instead of the ever popular skinny jean or cropped flare silhouettes, I was intrigued when I discovered they had sent over the brand’s signature “pedal pusher” cut. And when I posted a few photos on Instagram, I was immediately flooded with questions about where to get the style. 

We haven’t really seen this style around for a while. In fact, the last time they were widely popular was probably back in the ‘90s, worn by J. Lo and a Spice Girls-era Victoria Beckham. But right now may mark their triumphant return. One of the curious trends that popped up on the spring 2018 runways, pedal pushers were everywhere from Jacquemus to Khaite to Maryam Nassir Zadeh. But instead of styles that invoke visions of Limited Too, this time they’re cool and tailored. And with fans like Bella Hadid helping to put them on the map, there’s no doubt others with follow suit.

Among the grunge, babydoll, and logomania trends that were so prevalent in the '90s was the preppy trend, and one of the essential pieces in every prepster's closet was a rugby shirt. The polo-striped shirt hybrids featured were a trademark of the country club-chic look, but since then, rugby shirts have become eclipsed by Brenton shirt as the go-to striped tee. But we've said it before and we'll say it again: Everything in fashion comes back around, and the rugby shirt is indeed back. J.Crew's head stylist Gayle Spannaus just told Vogue "I think the rugby is so timeless, and it’s more than an 'off-duty' top." J.Crew's recent dedication to reissuing iconic piece's from its archives lead them to a new version of the rugby shirt, which was featured prominently in its 1984 catalog. 

J.Crew prominently featured rugby shirts in its F/W 17 presentation, and Gucci's latest men's collection contains several iterations of the trend. Not only that, Spannaus told Vogue that even more styles of rugby shirts are set for release next spring. You should probably just go ahead and get yours now, before all of your friends do.
