Christian Louboutin Just Created Its Most Fanciful, Over-the-Top Shoes Yet

1:04:00 PM

Christian Louboutin is here to bring you the best eye candy you've seen in a while. The brand has collaborated with talented Indian couture designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee on an extremely limited-edition collection of shoes and leather goods, which boast sari fabrics carefully embroidered by hand.

"India has been at the heart of luxury since the age of the Maharajas," Sabyasachi explained in a press release. "Working with Christian revisits that couture tradition, connecting our handicrafts with his eclectic point of view to create bespoke delights for cultural magpies."

Louboutin visited Sabyasachi at his home in Kolkata, India, where he got a rare look at the designer's private collection of saris and ribbons. Louboutin didn't want the beautiful fabrics to be hidden away in an archive, so he suggested turning them into "shoes that can dance into the light."

The collection will only be available in store at eight locations, including at Bergdorf Goodman beginning October 17 and the Christian Louboutin boutique in West Hollywood beginning on October 20. Louboutin and Sabyasachi also created a graphic novel to celebrate their partnership—preview it on Louboutin's Instagram.

Read on to preview Christian Louboutin's limited-edition collaboration with Indian couture designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
