Since fashion is always one step ahead—with fall collections shown during spring and vice versa—deciphering trends is easy, but determining which ones fashion girls will actually latch onto by the time the season in question rolls around is a gamble at best. One of the major F/W 17 trends we saw emerge down the runways was chunky combat boots. In theory, this trend would be an easy one to adopt, but once again, there was no guarantee.

As a new resident of NYC, I've been observing the style of city girls like a hawk. After semi-stalking the cool-girl NYC tricks of the trade, I noticed that the official boot trend that's blowing up here in the big apple is the chunky combat boot. Worn with frilly dresses, cropped denim, and even head-to-toe patent looks, this boot style is proving to be a crowd favorite here in NYC. New York girls dress for fashion, yes, but they also dress for function, and these comfortable stompers have proven they can withstand the endless walking and even the changing temperatures like true champions. Are they the boots of a city girl's dreams? I think so.
