We completely agree that referring to a fashion item as "life-changing" can be a bit of an overstatement. But we also acknowledge that sometimes a purchase can become something that you wear (or use) on a weekly basis, take on every trip, and reach for every time you need to look (and feel) your best. 

As Who What Wear editors, we're quite particular about what we buy, as you can imagine. Finding the best there is of every type of fashion item under the sun is our MO. That said, we unfortunately can't buy all of what we recommend, but between all of us editors, we undoubtedly added quite a few items to our wardrobes this year, and some of them stood out among the pack. And among those that stood out, there were some that we'd even call life-changing, meaning we're not sure what we did or wore before we owned the item in question. So without further ado...
