Selena Gomez just had a whirlwind press day in London, with a total of four outfit changes in a matter of hours. And one look, in particular, caught our eye, thanks in part to her choice of footwear. She started her very stylish Monday with a blue off-the-shoulder (still a thing, apparently) mini dress by Cushnie et Ochs. While we would've expected to see most celebrities pairing the chic mini dress with a pair of strappy stilettos, Gomez went with something a lot more unexpected. 

One of the shoe trends to work it's way back into relevance as of late (along with kitten heels) is wedge-heel shoes. But hers weren't the wedges you used to wear in the 2000s. Gomez's Trademark shoes were low-heel slip-on mules. The chic, comfortable shoes featured many other updated twists, including velvet as the primary material, an oversized yet modern gingham bow, and a concealed wedge that almost made them look like flats (but with more leg-lengthening powers). The wedges lend an effortless vibe to the dress, which in turn made it more daytime-appropriate. Not only that, they're currently 50% at Net-a-Porter.
