Not to toot our own horn, but way back in April, we predicted that one accessory trend would blow up this season: wicker basket bags. Veronika Heilbrunner and Anna Dello Russo were just some of the early adopters who caught our eye earlier this year, and now Alexa Chung has officially jumped on board as well. 

Snapped in New York City today, Chung punctuated a laid-back look with the It accessory, which gave her summer-ready basics an on-trend twist. We also like how she tied a printed blouse around her waist to add some interest to her tank-top-and-shorts combo. While we love Chung's outfit, basket bags would also look great paired with ultra-feminine dresses for a picnic-inspired look—just avoid being too literal with plaid pieces.
