Pieces in This Uniqlo Collab Have Sold Out in 5 Minutes
9:31:00 AMDesigner collaborations, especially ones that come at an accessible price point, often have a history of selling out. But not very many come back season after season with new, exciting offerings for shoppers, like Uniqlo U. In partnership with Christophe Lemaire, the former Hermès artistic director and designer of his own eponymous Lemaire line, this collection is an elevated, modern, slightly unconventional take on Uniqlo’s usual collection of essentials and wardrobe-building basics. And with the drop of the Spring/Summer 17 collection today, we suggest you move fast.
"The Uniqlo U collection employs advanced materials, new techniques and at times features more daring and progressive shapes," the brand's director of creative, Shu Hung, tells us over email. She also confirms that the first iteration of the Uniqlo U line which debuted in August of last year had one specific hot commodity: "Fall Winter 16 Men's and Women's Bomber jackets sold out on uniqulo.com within the first five minutes of launch!"
This time around for the new collection, the popular bomber transforms into an weightless, collarless blouson; neutral shades of black are replaced with refreshing nudes, tans, and on-trend yellows; and wide-leg jeans reign supreme. "The team at our Paris R&D Center felt like they wanted to push more airy and oversized denim silhouettes this season," Hung explains about the design choice. "We still have slim-fit and skinny options in our main collection and believe that there are customers who will gravitate towards both."
Below, take a look a the dreamy Uniqlo U lookbook and shop some of the pieces—sooner rather than later, if you ask us.
