In an evening that touched on both the importance of the past and the emotions of the present, Kenzo designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon presented the F/W 17 collection in Paris. Models walked the runway in bold print-emblazoned designs that paid homage to the fashion house's original designer, Kenzō Takada. The design duo reached into the brand's archives to resurrect pieces from the '70s and '80s and bring them back to life.

In addition, Kenzo looked to Pussy Riot, sending models down the runway in colorful balaclavas. In show notes, one of the movement's founders, Nadya Tolokonnikova, noted, "Balaclavas, pussy hats, pick whatever you want but just fight against misogyny and racism." In another nod to the current political climate, dinner served during the show was created by Syrian chef Mohamad El Khady, who has been involved in projects to empower refugee chefs in Europe. To finish the night off, reclusive but ever-popular singer Lauryn Hill made a surprise performance that had every editor buzzing.
