If we asked Kate Middleton about her favorite shoes, we'd venture to say that her Penelope ChilversLong Tassel Boots ($611) probably top her list. Why? Because she's been wearing them for a solid 12 years (and counting), including today. 

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted in the English countryside to support the charity Farms for City Children. Since the event called for a casual outfit, her parka jacket, skinny jeans, and boots were fitting for the occasion. As you may remember, she was first spotted wearing the shoes all the way back in 2005, and she resurrected them from her closet for her royal trip to Bhutan last year. All in all, Middleton is proof that the right quality basics can last you a lifetime.
