Will Burberry's New It Bag Be As Iconic as Its Trench Coats?

There’s no fashion item more signature to Burberry than its trench coats. It’s a staple of the over 150-year-old brand. So while it might be hard to top that when it comes to new products, the label's latest handbag is capturing a bit of the iconic Burberry magic.
The DK88 is the latest handbag style from the British line that's available to purchase as of today. It features a clean silhouette, ladylike top handle, oversize-lock detail, and, in an ode to the trench, is “named after the house case for the brand’s signature honey-coloured gabardine fabric,” according to a press release. Furthermore, the variety of styles within the new line also feature a fabric referred to as “trench leather.”
Having properly kicked off last night with a celebration in New York, the DK88 is sure to be spotted on It girls everywhere. And our guess would be that British fashion girls, like Jourdan Dunn, Ellie Goulding, Kate Foley, and Hayett McCarthy who were in attendance last night, will be some of the first to propel its popularity.
